Giving Opportunities

The Doel Reed Center in Taos is a growing educational facility that extends Oklahoma State University’s academic programs to Northern New Mexico. The DRC provides educational opportunities for OSU students and others, engaging scholars and artists who produce original works, teach seminars and collaborate with students of all academic disciplines. The center's growing academic program assists OSU in fulfilling its land-grant mission through innovative educational opportunities for students.
There are many ways to give, including membership in The Doel Reed Society.  Membership renews annually, and donors receive a variety of benefits each season.   Click here to learn more about becoming a Doel Reed Society member. 20 Year Celebration Fund

(20-96250)

2026 marks a significant milestone for the OSU’s Doel Reed Center in Taos.  Over the past 20 years we have seen Martha’s vision of establishing an educational facility as a tribute to her father become a reality.  Martha gifted the family’s historic property in Talpa, New Mexico to Oklahoma State University two decades ago, transforming the cherished Reed family property into an educational oasis.

Donors to the 20-Year Celebration Fund will help us honor the legacy of the Reed Family and their remarkable gift to OSU through a year of events in honor of this milestone, including:

A kickoff celebration in Oklahoma City on January 29, 2026
Our 20-Year Celebration Reception on July 24, 2026 in Taos, NM
Reed Family Art Exhibition – Fall 2026 OSU Museum of Art
Virtual Lecture Series
Your contribution to this fund will help us recognize the many dedicated and generous donors who have made this transformative place a reality.

Doel Reed Annual Scholarship Fund

(20-40950)

Each summer, the Doel Reed Center in Taos offers Oklahoma State University students a rare learning experience grounded in academic excellence and experiential learning in the unique multicultural setting of northern New Mexico.

Small class sizes optimize individual, hands-on learning, allowing students to immerse themselves in their academic endeavors. A range of fields of study, including art, architecture, creative writing, history, hospitality, landscape architecture, and many more disciplines are offered in two-week intensive sessions that capitalize on this special academic experience.

Many OSU students have said that scholarships are critical to their ability to participate in the unique academic classes offered at the DRC. Past student scholarship recipients have shared that returning to Stillwater after attending courses in Taos has given them a much deeper appreciation for their land-grant education and the Cowboy heritage.

This fund supports tuition assistance along with room and board stipends for students attending academic courses at the DRC.

Doel Reed Enhancement Fund

(20-40650)

As the DRC approaches its 20th anniversary, it remains mindful of the responsibility to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of the buildings and grounds that comprise the center.  The DRC provides classroom space for both academic and leisure learning classes offered each summer.

While available space is insufficient to house students, academic and leisure learning instructors reside in one of the two residences during their classes. Additionally, Visiting Artists and Visiting Scholars, as well as Hargis Fellows often are housed at the center.  The DRC’s interior and exterior spaces, and the Doel Reed Studio, are used as instructional spaces and critical to delivering academic and leisure learning classes.

Donations to this fund provide for the upkeep and improvement of the facilities and grounds.
